White-collared Blackbird can be found in elevation ranging from 1525m to 3050m above sea level in winter and up to 3445m during breeding season. These birds can be spotted foraging on the ground in an around open forests, clearings, meadows.

As the name suggests White-collared Blackbird have a distinctive broad white collar and white throat. The adults males are mostly black while the female are dark brown in color with a fairly streaked white collar. It has a yellow bill, eye-ring, and legs.
