The Tawny Coster Butterfly is found in elevations ranging from 182 m to 1981 m and is fairly common from February to July.

The wings of the Tawny Coster are orange in color, featuring black spots on both surfaces. On the forewing, these spots are larger than those on the hindwing. The black hue along the veins extends from the outer margin of the forewing. The hindwing has a wide, black outer margin and a series of circular spots on the upper side.

This butterfly is frequently found in open areas, gardens, and fields, displaying a swift and erratic flight pattern.
