The Common Sergeant is found at elevations between 120 and 2,300 meters. This medium-sized nymphalid is recognized by its bold black-and-white bands and energetic flight. The species is common in subtropical and lower temperate zones, thriving in both natural woodlands and cultivated landscapes.
