In Nepal, it inhabits subtropical forests, riverine woodlands, cultivated areas, and forest edges, occurring at elevations ranging from 75 m to 915 m. Primarily frugivorous, the Lineated Barbet plays an important ecological role as a seed disperser, contributing to forest regeneration.
