Common Name: Common Hoopoe
Scientific Name: Upupa epops 
Nepali Name: Fapre Chara ( फाप्रे चरा )
Size: Male – 31 cm
Location: Manang, Nepal

Seen in forests, open country, meadows up to 1500m during winters and 4400m in summers, Common Hoopoe have black and white wings and tail, black and white tipped crest, fawn colored plumage. The beak is gently curved.

They are found solitary foraging in the ground for insects, seeds, berries, small reptiles, and frogs.
