Great Egrets are seen in wetlands like rivers, marshes below 300m elevation and are fairly widespread.
Large in size, white in color, long S-shaped neck, black feet, and a large bill are what can be described for this bird during the non-breeding season, with darker bill and the lower legs lighter during the breeding season. Standing tall around 85-100m and with a wingspan of 131 to 170 cm, Great Egrets can be different from the intermediate egret by the gape which extends beyond the back of the eye.
