Ground Tits are found in elevations ranging from 3965 m to 5355 m above sea level, in the far northern areas of Nepal. They can be spotted on alpine steppe regions and rocky terrains, shrubs or, foraging around villages.

Ground Tits have a dark curved bill that looks like a chough which also had it classified previously in the Corvidae family. The underside is whitish with light yellow below. The upper body is darker yellow-brown.
