Location: Swayambhu, Kathmandu
A common sight in Kathmandu and widely spread in other subtropical belts of Nepal this macaque has brown and sometimes black hair in the body. The face is pale, without any hair, and turns red during the period of sexual receptivity and fertility. The tail measures around 20-22cm which is around half their body length.
They are normally found in human settlements and normally in temples and stupas but can be found in grasslands to jungle areas up to 2500m above sea level.
