Rose-ringed Parakeets are common and widespread residents in the low lands of Nepal. These birds can be seen around cultivated areas, open woodlands, near human habitats, in an elevation ranging from 75m to 1600m above sea level.
The male Rose-ringed Parakeet has a black chin stripe that joins a rose-pink collar. The female lacks the pink collar and the black stripe. The beak is red.
Rose-ringed parakeets are smaller than Alexandrine parakeets, lack the maroon shoulder patch, and have a smaller bill.
