Common and found from 2400m to 4800m in summer and below 1500m during winter, these White Wagtail are passage migrants, winter visitors and residents.  White Wagtails are extremely variable and all the races have white foreheads. The head pattern and black on throat/breast indicate the breeding birds. The non-breeding birds generally have a white throat. These birds can be seen in open areas with running water, streams, wet fields. As the name suggests these birds wag the tail a lot when moving around on the ground.
