Ourapteryx clara, commonly known as the Long-tailed Ourapteryx, is a striking moth recognized for its delicate, semi-transparent white wings and long, tapering tails on the hindwings. It is typically found at elevations ranging from 450 to 1,500 meters above sea level.

The forewings are adorned with fine greyish-brown streaks, especially near the outer edges, and display two straight, slanted orange-brown bands that extend to the wing margins, with a short band present between them in the central cell area. The hindwings feature a yellowish-brown outer edge, grey streaks, and a long tail highlighted by an orange and black spot—the orange section bordered in black. The reddish-brown fringe enhances its elegant appearance. This species is typically found in forested habitats, where its subtle coloration allows it to blend seamlessly with its surroundings.
