Common Name: Northern Pintail
Scientific Name: Anas acuta 
Nepali Name: Suiropuchre ( सुईरोपुच्छे )
Size: Male – 51 – 56 cm
Location: Gokyo, Nepal

Found around wetlands these Northern Pintails are seen below 915m. These birds are common winter visitors and passage migrants (below 4650m).

The Northern Pintail has a dark brown head with a white neck which extents in a form of a which strip which extends above the neck. The breasts are also white and the body is grey with black-edged feathers. 

This photo was taken in Gokyo lake ( 5000m) and could only spot a single duck.
