Adult greylags have distinctive greyish-brown plumage, with a slightly darker head and a paler breast and belly. Their pinkish-orange bill and matching pink legs are easily noticeable in the field. In flight, the upperwings display a pale gray leading edge contrasting with the darker flight feathers.
