Found from 1000 m to 3000m, these Orange-bellied Himalayan Squirrel are a medium sized forest squirrel.

It has a bright orange belly as the name suggests along with the throat and chest as well. The dorsal coat is brown at the base. The body is chunky with short limbs, small ears, and pointed snout. They live in tree holes close to the ground.
