White-throated Fantail is found in ravines, wooded habitats, shaded forests, at elevations ranging from 75m above sea level to 2440m. The adult birds have a slaty grey wing, head, upper, and underparts. They have a white supercilium and a white throat. The dark slaty fan-shaped tail has whitish edges.
This small passerine bird feeds mainly on insects consisting of beetles, bees, wasps, moths, flying termites, etc.
