Nepali Name: Sunthude Lampuchare ( सुनठूँडे लामपुच्छे )
Size: 61-66 cm

The Yellow-billed Blue Magpie is often seen gliding gracefully through the canopy. In summer, it frequents elevations between 2,440 and 3,660 meters, descending to around 1,850 meters in the colder months.
It is distinguished by its glossy black head, neck, and breast, offset by a white nape patch and pale underparts tinged with lilac. The upper plumage glows purplish-blue, intensifying on the wings and long, graduated tail, where white tips and black bands add dramatic contrast.
Unlike its close relatives Red-billed Blue Magpie, this magpie features a smaller white patch on the crown and a vivid yellow bill that makes it instantly recognizable.
