Widespread and found in cities, towns, and other habitation, fields, cultivations, these Eurasian tree sparrows can be distinguished by their black sports on the white ear-coverts, chestnut-colored crown, and black throat patch that extends down from the bill. There is a white-collar that separates the nape from the mantle. The upper part is light brown with black streaks.
These birds can be spotted in elevation ranging from 75m to 4270m during the breeding season and around 75m to 3795m during winter.
