Common Name: Oriental Pied Hornbill

Nepali Name: Kalo Dhanesh ( कालो धनेश)
Size: 55-60 cm
Location: Chitwan National Park

Dominated in black color with white patches in the face, wingtips, outer tail tip feathers, and below the breast; these Oriental Pied Hornbills are found from the east to west of Nepal below 250m in the broadleaved forest with fruiting trees.

The beak is black and white with a large casque with a female having smaller casque and black tip in the beak.
