Yellow-bellied Flowerpecker are generally seen in and around elevation ranging from 1050m to 3000m above sea level depending on the season. These birds can be spotted around open broadleaved forests, edges and clearings.
The male has a black upperpart with a white center at the throat and yellow underparts. The female looks similar to the male but has a dull brownish upperpart and a dull yellow belly.
