Angled Red Forester is a medium-sized forest butterfly found in the subtropical and lower temperate forests of Nepal, typically at elevations between 274 to 2,164 meters. It prefers shady woodland habitats, where it flies quietly through the undergrowth and often settles on tree trunks, damp ground, or decaying fruit.

The upper side of the wings is deep brown to brownish-black, with a warm reddish wash on the hindwings. Females are distinguished by a broad, angled white band across the forewings, while males are more uniformly dark. The underside is pale greyish-brown with delicate maroon wavy lines and a series of prominent black eyespots ringed with yellow, providing excellent camouflage among dead leaves and tree bark.
