The Banded Treebrown is a butterfly species native to Nepal’s forested areas, typically found at elevations ranging from 1,000 to 2,500 meters.

This butterfly is medium-sized with dark brown wings highlighted by prominent creamy-white bands across both the forewings and hindwings. The underside of the wings is adorned with intricate eye spots and wavy lines, which help the butterfly blend into the bark and foliage of trees.

Preferring the cool, shaded environments of subtropical and lower temperate forests, the Banded Treebrown feeds on tree sap, decaying fruit, and nectar.
