The Orange-banded Milionia Moth, found at elevations of around 1,000 to 1,600+ metres in Nepal, primarily in mid-hill and lower montane forests, is one of Nepal’s most striking day-flying moths, easily recognized by its velvety black wings marked with broad orange-to-golden-orange bands.

Depending on the light, the base of the forewings may show a subtle metallic bluish sheen, adding to its vivid appearance. With a wingspan of around 50–56 mm, this medium-sized geometrid moth is often mistaken for a butterfly due to its bright coloration and active daytime flight.
